Lansing, MI—Transportation for Michigan (Trans4M) is pleased to announce that the Macatawa Area Express Transit Authority (MAX Transit) of Holland, Michigan has won the second phase of the Lights, Camera, Transportation! Video Contest.
MAX Transit has served the Holland/Zeeland area with fixed route bus service since 2000. It will receive $1,000 to use toward a transportation initiative of their choice. MAX Transit also won Phase 1 on the contest as they had the most videos submitted on their behalf.
Passengers and pedestrians shared their transportation visions with Trans4M by submitting more than 50 videos to YouTube in hopes of winning the $1,000 grand prize. Contest participants voiced common transportation concerns, and emphasized the importance of interconnected transportation systems with active, mass and public transportation options.
Trans4M would still like to hear your transportation stories! What is your work commute like? Do you take the bus to work? Or maybe you bike? We want to know! Although the contest is over, we encourage you to capture your transportation story on video and send it to us, so that we can tell a bigger story about transportation in Michigan. We will use your videos to help state officials make wise decisions about Michigan’s transportation future.
Trans4M’s mission is to create a stronger Michigan through transportation policy reform that will revitalize Michigan’s cities and towns, reconnect its people to opportunity, and nurture a healthier economy.
